highway and pink flowers

Couldn’t write any better than A. O. Scott It’s quite difficult to say anything after it, but it somehow lingers in your mind, on your tip of tongue, almost palatable. Emotions are the most difficult to name, or to say. When he wakes up on the sofa, press the remote, the seemingly everlasting cartoon was there, flowers were still dying on the table, have you got the feeling all this is a dream? This ridiculous trip, out of Winston the neighbor’s internet, and, the whole life, is a dream stops at this awakening moment, which seems to be last forever. There’s no promising future; the past has been gone. All we have is the forever present.

That’s what Jarmusch said. David Lynch and he are the two best to say the nighmarish highway adventures in American psyche. The white male heroes , Lolita and old flames part, maybe is the essential angle to see that country.

Oh, and the music. Couldn’t think of anything better for a highway trip.
