Bill

Writing about web page http://www.frankfurt-ballett.de/

Work is not some sort of secret. It’s rather superstitious to think one has to keep one’s method secret. That’s primitive-and we’re not…It won’t disappear just becuase we communicate. We might be apprehended, so to speak, and that could force us to abandon our own methods, which is not such a bad thing, either. (20)

to get access some information that is loced behind the walls of particular institutions

Well, I think it comes from the notion of the voluntary and the involutary. You make a voluntary decision, you let yourself move into space and then gravity and velocity and seceral other factors are going to affect that decision and force you into another one. It might be an intuitive reaction-that your body intuitively reacts and protects you from hurting yourself. Or you make a decision consciously, and then you have another reaction that is either internal or again modified by your intentions, your will, so to speak. I think the biggest difficulty in the kind of imporvisation we practice is not consciously shaping your body, is actually letting your body fold and to develop a more reactice and a many timed body as opposed to a shaped body. (24)

“a reactive and many timed body as opposed to a shaped body"—>interesting

    COMMENT:

ha, wonderful. I was just wondering what he meant by “a reactive and many timed body?
